Our vision
The world is bigger than Singapore. You don’t have to navigate it alone.
We’re building the network that makes that true — connecting Singaporeans to people already living the career and the city they’re aiming for, starting in New York and expanding to San Francisco, Los Angeles, and London.
Ready to be part of it?
Moving your career abroad sounds simple until you’re the one doing it.
You can have the ambition, the degree, and the willingness to take the leap — and still find yourself wondering: Who do I talk to? Where do I start? How do people actually find their first opportunity?
We met at Singapore’s National Day event at the famous Uncle Ray’s Chicken Rice in New York City, and started OpeningSpring because we’ve both experienced different parts of that journey.
RuiYang left Singapore to build his career in the US, first through Apple and now at MIT. Along the way, he found that some of the most valuable opportunities didn’t come from job boards or applications. They came from people — someone making an introduction, sharing what they wished they knew earlier, or simply explaining how things worked in a new city.
Angelyn took a different path. After studying at NTU and spending nearly five years with Singapore Airlines, she moved to New York and is now building experience across communications and community at Rove. Her journey has meant navigating a new city, a new industry, and a new stage of life — while figuring things out along the way.
We realised there was something missing: a place where Singaporeans could help other Singaporeans make the leap.
That’s what OpeningSpring is for.
We’re building a community where you can meet someone who has been there before, find an opportunity you wouldn’t have found otherwise, ask the questions you’re not sure who to ask, and have a few people in your corner when you arrive.
Because sometimes, going further starts with someone opening a door.
